The NZVCA is a not-for-profit industry body committed to developing the venture capital and private equity industry in New Zealand. Its core objectives include the promotion of the industry and the asset class on both a domestic and international basis and to develop a world-best venture capital and private equity environment for the benefit of investors and entrepreneurs in New Zealand.

Members include venture capital and private equity investors, financial organisations, professional advisors, academic organisations and government or quasi-government.

Our activities cover the spectrum of investment in New Zealand private capital including Angel investment, seed and early-stage venture capital through to development capital and private equity (including management buy-outs and buy-ins).

By joining NZVCA, you will:

  • be represented with a single voice to government and regulators;
  • receive preferential pricing at all NZVCA networking events in New Zealand;
  • access to industry research and resources;
  • be able to attend members only events such as training programs and round table groups;
  • be able to access and fully leverage the business and networking opportunity that our members bring to each other;
  • have the opportunity to leverage from the NZVCA Sponsors’ Programme; and
  • have the opportunity to reach our electronic distribution network of nearly 2,000 people.

Obligations of membership

  • Agree to uphold the NZVCA Constitution
  • Support and contribute to any data collection exercise facilitated by NZVCA
  • Agree to the terms and conditions of membership, Sponsors’ Program, conference and event attendance
  • Membership fees
  • Fees are calculated on the financial year 1 April – 31 March
  • Fees must be received in order to access member benefits
  • Investor member fees are based on funds under management
  • Corporate membership fees are according to size of business (5 employees)
  • All other fees are a set rate for the category.
  • All fees quoted includes GST
  • Pro-rata membership is available
