  • Mike is a Director of IMSco an investment management company, and is an authorised financial service provider. IMSco provide a portfolio investment advisory service to wholesale investors, and work in collaboration with other financial intermediaries to deliver a tailored portfolio for clients, including both sourcing and executing alternative investments for a portfolio.
  • Mike is also an Executive Director in Farm Venture and NZ Pasture Management, and a GP of the NZ Pastoral Investments Limited Partnership – a fund which recently opened a capital raise for NZ Agri-sector investments with a pipeline of NZ dairy and beef farms.
Michael is based in Luxembourg and Prague where he focuses on advising new teams and sponsors in structuring impact funds targeting the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. He spends his time between Innpact, one of the leading global advisers for impact investing and working on projects with Collab Global.

He moved to impact focused investing after having set-up and managed PE funds totaling EUR 245 mil for SME growth, VC, TMT and renewable energy. As a founder, he is experienced in setting up, fund raising and the administration of funds as well as recruiting, training and leading cross-border teams for investments and as a member of the investment committee on all funds. In this capacity he has worked with leading DFIs including the EIB, KfW, EBRD and Sitra alongside private investors and strategic partners including 3i, Advent International, Sumitomo Mitsui, RobecoSam. This often entailed parallel vehicles structured as LP/GPs or as shareholding companies.

As impact investing brings additionality to the investment strategy but also opens up new structures and innovation, Michael draws on his capital markets experience in the US with Merrill Lynch Investment Banking and work he has done on green bonds, energy efficiency, evergreen investment platforms and regulated LUX funds. He has recently advised on a new VC fund for Africa, a global premium food/agribusiness fund and a SE Asia early stage technology fund.

He is also an expert adviser to the EUs Horizon 2020 SME technology program reviewing submissions for grants and loans for innovative and market changing technologies. This entails the review of approx. 10 projects each quarter where he is focused on energy and climate change projects.
